About Us
A Unique Boutique
Dollhouse Alley is a collaboration of two life-long miniaturists: myself, Ali (hello!) and my mom, Marianne. Our efforts are a blend of each of our unique skills and an appreciation for all things tiny!
My mom opened our small business as a retail store in Wantagh, New York in July of 2004, and I often helped out around the shop. We built a fun and friendly customer base, moved shop a few times, and constructed a lot of dollhouses. Ten years later, in 2014 our family decided to relocate, so we closed up shop and joined the online retail world, and to attend several dollhouse miniatures shows throughout the year.
My mom and I take pride in curating a shop full of unique and exciting dollhouse miniatures, room box kits, dollhouses, craft building supplies, and other 1:12 and 1:24 scale miniatures. We offer hand-picked, hand-made and high-quality products that we love, and that we know our customers will adore. I update the store frequently, so check back often for new items, special deals and pieces you won't be able to find anywhere else!
We have been in business for 19 years, and love to share our lifelong passion for tiny things through our creations, and hope to inspire this joy in others – young or old, new or seasoned, and everyone in between. Miniatures are for everyone!
How We Work
Both of us design, create, and hand-select each of the pieces you see on our website. It is our mission to ensure that the products our customers receive are of the best quality, and that what you see when you place an order is what you will receive at your door. We take high resolution photos of each piece, so you can see the quality you are buying. We use a clear 6" ruler and a quarter or penny to show scale when photographing, and will always give exact dimensions on some bigger pieces.
We know how hard it can be to envision a piece inside your mini home from just a picture, so we strive to make the shopping experience on our site an easy and hassle-free experience! Pricing, shipping charges, and the ordering process are intended to be as fair and concise as possible. If you have any questions on sizing, pricing, ordering, or just have a question on your mind, please feel free to contact us using this form.
Small Beginnings
Here is my first dollhouse, a Victorian Queen Anne that we purchased unfinished for my 10th birthday and completed over time. It is primarily painted in periwinkle, with white gingerbread trim detailing, hot pink and light pink accents, and a pale purple front door. Over the years, it has seen some wear and tear, but has been undergoing a refurbishment over the past year, and sits proudly in my dining room!
